THIS / THAT / THESE / THOSE

BU / ŞU / BUNLAR / ŞUNLAR

This / These :  This / These are used to talk about or point to people, animals or things which are near us.
This / These :  This / These bize yakın olan insanlardan, hayvanlardan ya da nesnelerden bahsederken ya da onları gösterirken kullanırız.


This is used with singular nouns. ( This tekil isimlerle kullanılır.)

  This is a cat.                     (Bu bir kedidir.)


These is used with plural nouns.        (These çoğul isimlerle kullanılır.)
        These are cats.                              (Bunlar kedidir.)

That / those: That / those are used to talk about or point to people, animals or things which are far away from us.

That / those: That / Those bizden uzakta  olan insanlardan, hayvanlardan ya da nesnelerden bahsederken ya da onları gösterirken kullanırız.

That is used with singular nouns. (That tekil isimlerle kullanılır.)
           That is an apple.                              (Şu bir elmadır.)

Those is used with plural nouns. (Those çoğul isimlerle kullanılır.)
  Those are apples                     (Şunlar elmadır.)

• This/ that / these / those are both used as pronouns and adjectives.
• (This/ that / these / those hem işaret zamiri hem de işaret sıfatı olarak kullanılır.)

1. This is my bag. ( Bu benim çantam. )

This is used here as a pronoun. (This bu örnekte işaret zamiri olarak kullanılmıştır.)

1.  Those ladies are my teachers. ( Şu bayanlar benim öğretmenim. )

Those is used as an adjective. (Those işaret sıfatı olarak kullanılmıştır.)

Examples:
This is an umbrella. ( Bu bir şemsiyedir. )
These are umbrellas. ( Bunlar şemsiyedir. )
That is an old building. ( Şu eski binadır. )
Those are old buildings. ( Şunlar eski binadır. )
That man is my uncle. ( Şu adam benim amcamdır. )
This book is very interesting. ( Bu kitap çok ilginç. )
Those children are my students. ( Şu çocuklar benim öğrencimdir. )
These flowers are for you, mom. ( Bu çiçekler senin için anneciğim. )

We use is not/ isn’t and are not/ aren’t in negatives.
( Olumsuz cümlelerde is not/ isn’t and are not/ aren’t kullanırız. )

Examples:
This isn’t your key. ( Bu senin anahtarın değil. )
That isn’t a cat. It is a dog. ( Şu kedi değil. O bir köpek. )
These aren’t my shoes. ( Bunlar benim ayakkabılarım değil. )
Those aren’t my books. ( Şunlar benim kitaplarım değil. )
This boy isn’t my son. ( Bu çocuk benim oğlum değil.)
That car isn’t Jack’s. ( Şu araba Jack’in değil. )
Those girls aren’t my cousins. ( Şu kızlar benim kuzenim değil. )
These books aren’t about animals. ( Bu kitaplar hayvanlar hakkında değil. )


When we ask “Is this.....”? or “Is that....?” we answer “it is / it isn’t”, “he is / he isn’t”, “she is / she isn’t”. We don’t use “this” or “that” in the answers.
( “Is this.....?” ya da  “Is that....?” ile soru sorduğumuz zaman “it is / it isn’t”, “he is / he isn’t”, “she is / she isn’t” kullanarak cevap veririz. Cevaplarda “this” ya da “that” kullanmayız. )

“Is this your pencil?” “Yes, it is. / No, it isn’t.”  Yes, this is. / No, this isn’t.
“Is that your car?”  “Yes, it is. / No, it isn’t.”  Yes, that is. / No, that isn’t.
“Is that your daughter?” “Yes, she is. / No, she isn’t.”
“Is that boy your son?” “Yes, he is. / No, he isn’t.”

When we ask “Are these.....?” or “Are those....?” we answer “they are / they aren’t” . We don’t use “these” or “those”  in the answers.
(“Are these.....?” ya da  “Are those....?” ile soru sorduğumuz zaman “they are / they aren’t” kullanarak cevap veririz. Cevaplarda “these” ya da “those” kullanmayız.)

“Are these children your students?” “Yes, they are. / No, they aren’t.”
“Are those men your teachers?”  “Yes, they are. / No, they aren’t.”

NE / KiM /NEREDE

What soru kelimesini nesneleri vey a cansz varlklar sormak için kullanrz.
Who soru kelimesini kisi ya da kisileri sormak için kullanrz.
Where soru kelimesini ise hem bir kisinin ya da bir nesnenin yerini sorarken kullanrz.


Examples:

“Bu nedir?” “O bir kameradır.”
⦁ “What is that?” “It’s a cell phone.”
“Şu nedir?” “O cep telefonudur.”
⦁ “Who is that lady?” “She is my mother.”
“Şu bayan kim?” “Benim annem.”
⦁ “Who is this boy?” “He is my brother James.”
“Bu çocuk kim?” “Erkek kardeşim James.”
⦁ “What are these?” “They are English books.”
“Bunlar ne?” “Onlar İngilizce kitabı.”
⦁ “Who are these?” “They are my cousins.”
“Bunlar kim?” “Onlar benim kuzenim.”
⦁ “Who are those men?” “They are my uncles.”
“Şu adamlar kim?” “Onlar benim amcam.”
⦁ “Where is Istanbul?” “It’s in Turkey.”
“Istanbul nerede?” “Türkiye’de.”
⦁ “Where are the children?” “They’re in the park.”
“Çocuklar nerede?” “Parkta.”
